The truth about lemon water
Outside of lemon there are a number of concoctions out there, that in my opinion are just juices, or flavored water.
Drinking water with cucumbers or added fruits and veggies, just makes it flavored water. In addition to providing phytonutrients, and flavor to curb your appetite. Drinking flavored water is the only way most people will actually drink the adequate amount of water.
Drinking more water in general has health benefits and can aid in weight loss. There is no evidence suggesting that you metabolism will be ramped up from drinking water with fruit added to it. As disheartening as it sounds if these techniques for weight loss were as easy and simple as magazines and social media made it out to be everyone would be in shape.
Water in general is a detox, so adding fruits and veggies to it, does nothing, you would better off eating the fruit. However if flavored water makes you drink the right amount of water I am all for it.
