Sometimes its not the scale its us. This quick post will outline the ways we set ourselves back when it comes to our fitness goals
How do we sabotage our own fitness goals
Over indulge in healthy foods
The biggest elephant in the room, is that people over indulge in healthy foods. What do I mean by they over indulge in healthy foods.
Its simple, people buy a lot of low calorie processed foods and over indulge. They buy things like diet soda, and over consume them, they buy healthy foods that are overly processed. And while in small quantities most people try and make these complete meals.
Consumption of alcohol
While sparingly or preferrably not at all. Most people drink daily and that right there is a bunch of empty calories. With that being said most people also tend to make poor food choices while under the influence as well. Which doesn’t help.
You don’t track your calories
Wearing a heart rate monitor will give you a better understanding of just how many calories your burnt during your workout.
Most people grossly overestimate how many calories they are burning and how effective their workout really is.
On the other hand people don’t properly track their calories or log their foods for that matter. So what ends up happening in this case they tend to underestimate the amount of food they are actually consuming.
While there is still room for error properly tracking your calories will do wonders for you.
The importance of sleep
Sleep deprivation can increase the hunger hormone ghrelin. Which will make you feel hungrier. Now leptin on the other hand decreases and leptin is the hormone that tells your brain that you’re full.
The sleeper you are, the more likely you are to miss workouts, and eat foods you shouldn’t.
